Fiona
After finishing her music degree Fiona served her time in big bands traveling with cruise-liners throughout the world. Equally at home with classical, show and popular bands Fiona's intuitive feeling for the blues makes her a real pleasure to listen to. Not content sitting still, Fiona also plays with Glasgow funksters Washington Street, a classical woodwind trio and deps. with soul band Hidden Agenda. Not to mention of course that the lady can sing!
Michael
Michael cut his teeth with straight ahead blues bands including the Glasgow based Blues Buddahs until moving away to Toronto. After a brief flirtation with Bert Jansch inspired folk projects he concentrated on the swinging jazz sound that characterises Corner Pocket Groove. On return to Glasgow Michael formed Mud & Butter with Fiona and drummer Stephen McGowan to great success, with residencies in a number of bars in the city. With cutting blues sensibilities and soft wood toned swing under his fingers his jazz guitar is the perfect foil for Fiona's melodic sensiblilties.
